Throughout the year the Suffolk Owl Sanctuary
stages a series of Activity Days for young
visitors. Each is designed to provide a creatively
fun and interesting time at the Centre, where
children can learn all about Owls and other Birds
of Prey and their roles throughout history.
Raptors are of course linked to dinosaurs and other strange creatures from prehistoric times; Raptors had important parts to play in ancient cultures & religions from the Egyptians & Romans through to the Native American Indians; and closer to home, Raptors have been significant in social circles from the times of the Tudors. Today the emphasis is on care & conservation - and each of these subjects is covered by these new activity events - see sidebar for more details.
There is a nominal charge for each of these events and it is important that you book your chosen Activity Day in advance, be it for a group or simply for a single person. This is because we like to conduct the events with sufficient numbers of staff on hand to ensure the safety of our visitors. For non-school visits, places are limited to 16 per adventure.
If you, your children or your school or youth group are interested in attending one or all of these events, please contact us on 01449 711425 or by email on info@owl-help.org.uk and we will do our best to accommodate you.
