
Under the direct supervision of our Head Falconer or his Deputy, the Falconry for Beginners Course starts in the classroom with the basics and progresses to cover all the fundamentals of modern bird management including manning, equipment, accommodation, diet, health & hygiene, legislation and the etiquette of falconry.
During the Course you will work in the field with magnificent hawks and buzzards as you learn how to train and man Birds of Prey for free flight, developing care, understanding and confidence as you handle them. Detailed Course Notes will be provided for your reference and at the end of the Course you will spend an afternoon putting theory into practice in the field, hunting with a Harris Hawk:. ADVANCED FALCONRY COURSE
This advance course provides those with the basic level falconry skills the opportunity to extend & improve their experience and will take you onto the greater understanding and expertise required for managing longwing & shortwing birds. A certificate will be awarded at the end of the course, which is run only once annually in January for holders of the Beginners Course certificates. (Non-certificate holders can arrange separately to attend a qualification session). Price per person £275 including lunches & refreshment.
